- Open cabinets under sinks to allow warm air to reach pipes.
- Clean your gutters and keep clear of debris.
- Keep faucets open and water flowing.
What to Do if A Pipe Freezes or Bursts
- Shut off the water.
- Attempt to locate the frozen pipe and check for leaks.
- Open faucets connected to that pipe.
- Attempt to thaw (do not use an open flame to do this; a hair dryer is ideal).
- Call a plumber to repair leaking or burst pipes.
